Frenchboro Offshore Store - 8 miles off the coast of Maine

About Us

We are a family of five, living and working on a small Maine island! Some call us crazy, others are in disbelief. We moved here to raise our children, get out of the rat race and enjoy the sound of the pounding surf on the shore. Our family is supported by commercial fishing-specifically lobsters. It is a hard life to live by, with many changes in the regulations that directly affect all families in this line of work, but on a nice summer day you would be hard pressed to beat your surrounding! We decided to open a small store and take out as a place for the locals to gather and discuss island events and to offer our tourists a place to eat and pick up supplies! It has been a fun first year and we have been introduced to many new people from all walks of life. The island offers many hiking trails most with impressive ocean views. So grab your family and hop on a boat and come visit...you will most likely see the ospreys and eagles that call Frenchboro home and if you are really lucky you might get a glimpse of our newest island resident a moose! Follow this link to view a trip to Frenchboro by sailboat.
